The brief was to redesign the humble fruit juicer. The emphasis was on designing objects that use affordances to communicate how the object would work without any prior knbowledge. Tom Jenkins and I developed this concept for a juicer that lets you share the experience of jucing and the fruits (geddit?) of your labour.

 

 
  Initially, we looked at ways that you would have to work together to create fruit juice. This grizzly looking device requires two people to pull two ends together, simultaneously clamping, piecing and squeezing the juice from an orange.  
  Next we wanted to play with the idea of an objects affordances to create an unexpected experience. And so was born the "Fantastical Juice Sharing Machine".
